The Sennheiser MKE 440 is a compact stereo shotgun microphone designed to capture focused stereo sound from the direction of the camera while minimizing off-axis noise from the surroundings. It features two mini-shotgun microphone elements arranged in a V-shape configuration, which provides superior performance compared to traditional mini AB, MS, or XY stereo setups.

With a super-cardioid stereo pickup pattern, the MKE 440 offers a frequency response range from 50 Hz to 20 kHz and can handle sound pressure levels up to 132 dB. The microphone includes a 3-level sensitivity switch and a high-pass filter to reduce low-frequency rumble. Powered by two AAA batteries, it delivers up to 100 hours of operation. The MKE 440 also features internal shock-mounting to prevent handling noise and a stainless steel micro-mesh for wind protection. For even stronger wind conditions, an optional furry wind cover is available.

Key Features:

Dual Mini Shotgun Microphones: Provides precise frontal sound capture while rejecting background noise.
Built-in Suspension and Wind Protection: Reduces handling noise and minimizes wind interference.
3-Level Sensitivity Adjustment: Allows you to customize the mic’s audio levels to suit different environments.
Low-Cut Filter: Helps eliminate unwanted low-frequency noise.
Durable, Compact Design: Features all-metal construction for rugged use and a standard-size camera shoe mount for easy attachment.

The MKE 440 is an excellent choice for capturing high-quality audio with excellent directionality, making it ideal for videographers, vloggers, and mobile journalists who require professional audio performance in a compact and reliable form.
