Elevate the audio quality of your video productions by upgrading from your camera's built-in microphone to the Sennheiser MKE 600, a shotgun microphone that can be powered either by battery or phantom power. Its highly focused directional characteristics and resistance to structure-borne noise make it ideal for various production scenarios, from independent films and web series to nature documentaries.

With its high sensitivity and low-noise circuitry, the MKE 600 ensures superior sound quality without relying on high gain from noisy camera preamps. It features a natural roll-off at 40 Hz, and a selectable low-cut filter at 100 Hz, allowing for clear intelligibility while minimizing low-frequency noise such as rumble. Additionally, its frequency response includes a gentle treble rise, enhancing speech clarity.

The MKE 600 comes in a lightweight yet durable metal housing, providing toughness without weighing down your setup. It includes a shockmount that fits standard camera shoes, making it easy to mount on a camera or tripod. The microphone's XLR output connects seamlessly to XLR-equipped mic preamps, or you can use the included adapter cable to connect it to your camera’s 3.5mm mic input.

Key Features:

Focused Directional Sound: The 10" MKE 600 uses an interference tube with a supercardioid/lobar polar pattern, offering precise on-axis sound capture while rejecting unwanted noise from the sides and rear. This makes it ideal for recording distant sources compared to standard omnidirectional mics found in most cameras.
Bass Roll-Off: The MKE 600 reduces sub-bass frequencies below 40 Hz to prevent unwanted bass buildup. The switchable low-cut filter at 100 Hz helps eliminate low-frequency noise, such as hums from air conditioners and traffic.
Battery or Phantom Powered: The MKE 600 is compatible with both 48 VDC phantom power for professional use with field recorders, camcorders, and cinema cameras, and can be powered by a single AA battery for up to 150 hours of use. When the battery runs low, the indicator will alert you when approximately 8 hours of operation remain.
Versatile Mounting Options: The MKE 600 is easy to mount on a camera or tripod using the included shoe shockmount. For boompole or mic stand mounting, the Rycote InVision INV-HG mkIII shockmount (sold separately) can be used, which reduces vibration transfer between the stand and the mic.
XLR to 3.5mm TRS Adapter Cable: Included with the MKE 600 is an XLR female to 3.5mm TRS male adapter cable, allowing direct connection to a camera’s mini-jack mic input.
Windscreen Protection: The MKE 600 comes with a foam windscreen that reduces wind noise by up to 25 dB, protecting against breezes, fans, and other environmental noise. For enhanced wind protection, the Rycote 15cm Super-Softie (sold separately) offers superior immunity to wind and rain.

For complete wind and handling noise reduction in both indoor and outdoor settings, consider adding a Rycote Super-Blimp NTG or Super-Shield Kit (both sold separately), which provide additional suspension and protection.

The Sennheiser MKE 600 is a versatile, high-performance shotgun microphone that provides professional-grade sound capture, making it perfect for filmmakers, content creators, and journalists who demand reliable, high-quality audio in a wide range of environments.
